Why Get Involved?

You may think that if someone you know is living with domestic violence that it isn’t any of your business.

That isn't true. Violence is everyone's business and it could be a matter of life or death.

You may feel that you don't know what to say, but often just saying that you care and are concerned is a good way to start.

You might be afraid that if you get involved you will make things worse or that the violence will turn to you or your family.

Local police forces have people trained in these matters, so let them know if you receive threats.

You might be afraid she will get mad at you but, even if she does, it’s important that she knows you care and that she’s not alone.

Domestic violence is everyone’s concern.
