Kids First, Antigonish, offers a parent education program and is part of the Antigonish and area family violence prevention committee.
Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre & Sexual Assault Services Association is located in the Kirk Building, 219 Main Street, Suite 204 (above Tim Hortons). You can drop in to have a cup of coffee, browse our library, or sit in our comfy couches. We also offer a range of services and programs to women, adolescent girls, and their families. Our SANE Program serves Pictou county and the entire Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority.
The SANE Program is funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Health, and coordinated by the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre in partnership with Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority (GASHA) and St. Francis Xavier University (STFX). A SANE is a Registered Nurse who has advanced training and education in forensic examinations of sexual assault victims. Through this program, on-call SANE nurses provide immediate care and conduct forensic examinations of victims of sexual violence.

INTRODUCTION:
In August 1983, The Naomi Society became incorporated as a not for profit charitable organization and in May 1984 services for women and children who were victims of family violence was established.
MISSIONSTATEMENT:
The Naomi Society is a broad based community organization that preserves and promotes the safety, dignity and human rights through direct services to women and their children who are victims of family violence. The society advocates for and provides community action programs for all individuals who are affected by family violence. This is done with an approach that is sensitive to social, economic and cultural diversity.
AREA SERVED:
The municipalities of Antigonish Town, County and Guysborough County. A geographic area of approximately 1500 square kilometres. A population of approximately 34,458 people.

Comprised of 12 Volunteers from the local community but only requires 6 to function as a board
